MD-MCU calls from a flock of c200 birds in flight and circling, slight wind. USE: Scandinavia, Germany and Poland east thoughout Russia in summer. Winters: SW Spain, northern North Africa, central Turkey, Ethiopia, N. India and China. TIME: As track 22.

MCU calls from three juveniles still in nest, adult 'hooting' in b/g, woodland atmosphere with calls from nearby Rookery, Pheasant and distant dog at times. USE: Britain, Ireland, N. France to N. Germany, Eastern Europe to western Siberia. TIME: mid April-May; dusk, early part of night and dawn.
